All Possible Humanities Dissertations Considered as Single Tweets

Stephen Burt’s article in the New Yorker summarizing humanities dissertations as tweets.  I am not sure he has covered everything.  Would be good to hear others. For a start, I am not sure I see my topic here.

  1. Okay, so my thesis was [Relevant Line from Author That I’m Too Proud of]: [Rhetorical Figure] in the [Works] of [So-and-so] and [So-and-so].

    That feels a little different from the options, but…

    Maybe that’s “those two apparently incompatible versions of a thing are better regarded as parts of the same, larger thing,” because the figure was synoeciosis.

    Or “this pedestrian term is actually the key to my historical period,” since they were both Victorians…
